Today marks the celebration of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. On 17th May of 2022, we embrace and raise awareness of this momentous occasion where we should all come together to support our fellow friends and families who are people that face discrimination due to their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or sex characteristics. Every single human being is born free and equal in dignity and rights. Several countries around the globe still oppose the freedom of allowing people to express and engage in same-sex relationships. In some, doing so is punishable by death. There are countries which have adopted laws that discriminate against LGBTIQ+ people. This ongoing issue is not acceptable and should stop. Today, together with RAWR, we will raise awareness of equality, respect for dignity, and respect for diversity. Everybody should not face the fear of whom they choose to love and express their true nature of themselves.
